1. Roomba Q5 Pro
The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive counterpart the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums that we have test. They are equipped with motors that are top-of-the class and can handle up to 5,500 Pascals. And, like other top iRobot models (including the top choice), they use intelligent mapping technology to create detailed floor plans and avoid home-based obstacles like cords and furniture legs. The robots also feature Carpet Boost, a feature that boosts its power when it senses dirt on the carpet.

Both the Q5 and the Q7 Max Series get very high scores on our bare floor tests and are particularly effective at cleaning pet hair. However, they do have some flaws that prevent them from being our top pick. For instance, the Q5's navigation doesn't feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology which means it's susceptible to become entangled in shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate tight spaces very well in our tests. It doesn't also have a camera to see around corners.
robot vacuum reviews 's still a good value for those whose home or office has lots of unfinished floors and you're looking to save some money. It's also extremely quiet and works while you're at work or at school. The only thing it doesn't have that you don't get in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming of floors with no floor. It's also less effective at mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick very well and cannot handle dried-on debris. The Q5 has self-emptying docks, however. And, if you have to, you can swap the mopping pad for dry ones in just a few just a few seconds.
2. IRobot Roomba X30
The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact elegant vacuum cleaner that also has the ability to mop floors. Its agile navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it easy to clean and efficient at taking on larger particles, such as pet hair. It also features self-emptying dustbins with powerful suction and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robot hoover for carpets, however it isn't as effective as some of its competitors in terms of deep cleaning.
This high-performance vacuum and mop uses sensor technology that can avoid obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the structure of your home over time and provide more efficient cleaning. The app lets you modify zones and alter the cleaning schedule. Its battery life is average in comparison to similar models.
When robot vacuum cleaners reviews is in a carpeted area, you can instruct it to pull back and extend its mops. This can help avoid cross contamination. The flex arm is great to get under furniture with low levels and along baseboards. However, it doesn't have the same level of washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ as well as the iRobot Combo j9+.
During tests, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop to complete an entire house, finishing with the battery at 66 percent left. It did a decent cleaning job on different floors and rooms with different kinds of flooring, including some area carpets. Its obstacle detection was great and it was able to avoid fake dog turds and socks, shoes and bundles cables.
It's a bit more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but it has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empties into the base. It also supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can clean the floor even after it has vacuumed. This is something we haven't seen in other robotic vacuum/mop combinations.
3. Roomba X40 from iRobot
With a sleek circular design that appears more like a normal Roomba rather than the boxes this mop and robot vacuum is one of the most attractive designs in our tests. The latest flagship model from iRobot is also its smartest. It comes with advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection as well as future compatibility (another company's robot that can wash mop pads autonomously).
It's also the only robot vacuum or mop that scored a perfect 10 out of 10 in our evaluations. This is due to the combination of high-tech sensors, including a structured lighting system, a camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop mops.
The X40, like other iRobot products, is simple to operate. It comes with a simple mobile application interface and is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only real drawback is that it's loud, which can be a problem if you run it in the morning prior to work or in the evening as you try to fall asleep.
It's also a bit expensive, but not as much as the Ecovacs S8 MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally powerful and more attractive. If you're willing to put up with a bit more noise and some extra cost it's a powerful two-in-one that will please almost everyone.
4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the best robot vacuum and mop. It has a number of features that are advanced and will make you forget about your chores. Similar to Ecovacs the range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that can take charge of both mopping and vacuuming, with a multi-function dock that automatically emptys the vacuum's trash bin, refills its water tank and washes and dries its mop pads.
The smart robot uses LIDAR and structured lighting to map out floorplans and identify obstacles. It is more efficient in its navigation than its top competitors. It also has a camera mounted on the front for real-time detection of hazards but this was not 100% foolproof during our tests and was often confused by power cords or other obstructions.
Its vacuum cleaner has the capacity to suction up to 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to complete the task. It also comes with a feature known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the home based on how dirty the areas are.
If you have a larger home, it is worth choosing a model that has spot or zone cleaning mode. This lets you tell the robot which area of your home needs to be cleaned using the app or voice command. If you have lots of furniture, a stair-mode is also useful. Also, a recharge and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to continue where it left off is ideal for busy families.
iRobot RX3
The RX3 is more advanced than its price suggests. It is a good vacuum cleaner, picking up 55% debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses with one pad, which uses a reciprocating motion that does a better job cleaning than the other robot mop cleaners we've tested. It's also highly self-sufficient, with a full-featured app and a self-emptying base that is washable.
The well-designed iRobot app will guide you through a mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you set on the map. It can be used to make cleaning schedules, plan a spot clean or to sort out your rooms with the most dirt to ensure better performance. The app has a range of options, including seasonal suggestions, customized mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.
Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums, meaning it is able to reach corners and underneath furniture better. It features an impressive 8000 Pascal suction as well as clever combs for removing pet hair. It also has the ability to create a spot-clean that thoroughly cleans a particular area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and cheaper alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive design, similar to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed to resemble cute little eyes. It does a good job vacuuming, but is more prone to get caught on low thresholds and is louder than the other top robot vacuums we've tested. It also comes with an app that's not as intuitive and has a tiny base station that doesn't double as a bin to empty.
